Autumn is a spectacularly beautiful season with the vibrant colors, crisp air and soft sunlight. Spending time in nature during this time can help both the body and qi adjust to the changing season and can feel deeply healing and restorative.

The Berkshires sit in a valley surrounded by the Taconic and Hoosac mountain ranges, where the area is rich with hardwood forests like maple, birch, oak and beech. Each tree has a different shade of color, and because the landscape has different elevations, the foliage changes in layers, making the Berkshires one of New England’s most beautiful autumn destinations. Mid to late October is considered peak leaf color season there. Being only a few hours from the NY/NJ area also makes it an easy weekend escape.

For the Qi Gong portion of the retreat, I’ll be teaching a very simple 4–5 movement flow ahead of time through a live Zoom class for the group, and everyone will also receive access to the recording so you can practice.

That way, once we’re there, we can focus less on memorizing, learning or perfecting movements and more on the experience itself, soaking in the qi of our environment, building, moving, clearing, and sensing energy.

Throughout the weekend, we’ll pause at beautiful locations for short 10–15 minute outdoor Qi Gong sessions.

This is a very easy and accessible nature walk that leads to a breathtaking 60-foot waterfall surrounded by forest and mountain scenery. • After the hike, we’ll return to Brook Farm Inn for a special private farewell lunch prepared for us at Brooke Farm Inn

  • As our final stop on the way home, we’ll visit High Lawn Farm, a historic Berkshires dairy farm known for its homemade ice cream, farm store, cheeses, baked goods and local specialties. We’ll enjoy homemade ice cream together (included), with time to explore the farm store before heading home Sunday afternoon.
